Our Wedding

How They Met

It all started back in 2022. Both out with friends, Isabelle and Chris were visiting one of their favorite spots. It was dark, it was grimy, it was 80's night. If you know, you know... Saturday night at Barbarella's. With some encouragement from her friends (and a healthy dose of liquid courage), Isabelle approached Chris and they exchanged numbers. They met for their first date at Eight Row Flint the very next weekend, where they quickly hit it off. They fell in love over cooking together, museum dates, riding bikes, and a shared sense of adventure.

A real highlight of their first few months of dating was spending Christmas travelling through Paris and London with Isabelle's family, with a quick stop off in Newcastle. Chris showed her his favorite spots, and the two created special, life long memories.

The Proposal

Chris proposed in August 2025 while the two were visiting Isabelle’s Mami in Port Townsend, Washington. Port Townsend holds a special place in Isabelle's heart, as she grew up spending her summers exploring the wooded trails, playing on the beach, getting lost in the old forts, and cooking French cuisine and homemade desserts with Mami and Papi. Chris planned an intimate beach picnic at sunset and asked Isabelle to spend the rest of their lives together. Shedding happy tears, Isabelle enthusiastically said yes!

National Parks!

Take a day trip to Victoria, BC (Canada)! This seaside town is a great way to spend the day. Get lost in the Butchart Gardens (plan for a whole day here), explore the downtown scene with British pubs and shopping, walk through Beacon Hill Park, or take a seat on the water and watch the sea planes land! If you like to cycle, Victoria offers fantastic trails. We recommend the trail up to Sidney and back, roughly 40 miles round trip.

Things to Do

Where is the wedding? 

The wedding is at the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park [1400 E Prospect St, Seattle WA].The museum is roughly a 15 minute drive from downtown Seattle, so please plan accordingly and allow time for traffic.

Will there be a welcome party? After party? 

While there is no formal welcome party, we would love to kick off the weekend with you at the Fog Room - the rooftop bar of the Charter Hotel - on Friday evening around 9pm. In a similar vein, hop on the provided shuttle after the send off and finish the night strong - Fog Room is open until 1:00am!

What is the attire for the wedding? 

The attire is black tie optional. Men can choose to wear a dark colored suit or tuxedo. Women can wear a floor length or midi style gown.

Will we be able to tour the museum during the wedding? 

Yes! The museum will be open for your viewing throughout the night. We highly encourage you to explore the exhibits and enjoy the museum.

Will the wedding be outdoors? 

The ceremony will take place outside, and all other festivities will be inside. The weather in Seattle in August in generally very pleasant, with daytime highs in the mid-70's to low-80's, and lows in the mid-50's.

What is parking like at the venue? 

There is a small parking lot at the museum, but due to limited space we recommend ride share options like uber or lyft.After the send off, a shuttle will be provided taking guests to the Charter Hotel.
